Afghan High Peace Council has called on Pakistan to hand in all Afghan political prisoners under Pakistan detention. Peace Council Spokesperson, Mawlawi Qeyamuddin Kashaf, said officials in Islamabad were not contacted on the extradition of any specific prisoners. Pakistan in talks with Afghan peace delegates pledged full cooperation regarding the issue, Kashaf said. Afghan political prisoners' extradition to Afghanistan has been directly suggested to Pakistan's government."We didn't mention anyone's name specifically and asked for extradition of all political prisoners," Kashaf said.Pointing out to talks between peace delegates and representative of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar's Hezb-e Islami party, Kashaf said the party had suggested an initiative to the council, without giving further details."We hope our peace talks will have some positive results. They have assured that women's rights including the right to education will be respected," Kashaf said. "If they want an Islamic government, then what is wrong with that?"Mr Kashaf says the High Peace Council should work on a constructive strategy and conditions should be asserted to the plan that could help to convince Hezb-e-Islami to join the government.
